BC Sea Kayak Award Training/Assessment

The British Canoeing Sea Kayak Award Training/Assessment is new for 2019 and part of the BC Personal Performance Awards.

This two day training course aims to help sea kayakers become confident in planning and undertaking journeys on the sea, in winds up to and including force 3 and tides up to 1 Knot.  The training may take us a little beyond these environmental parameters, in order to help develop the skills to paddle proficiently in these conditions.

Essentially, we are aiming to develop sea kayakers towards becoming confident journeying in low energy, yet exposed marine coastal environments.

Our team will journey along Anglesey’s stunning coastline, visit beautiful beaches, explore rocky shores/caves and islands, view amazing wildlife and have fun in our sea kayaks.

Sheltered to Moderate Water Sea Kayaking courses run from April to October. The course often runs with just two participants, with a max group size of 4 participants.  As long as there are two people, the course is guaranteed to go ahead.
